William “Bill” Jack Fisher

William Jack “Bill” Fisher, beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023 in the early morning, while surrounded by his three devoted daughters.

Bill was born on June 3, 1951 in Sullivan, IN to the late Alice “Polly” Fisher Nickeson and Jack Fisher.

Bill was loved by all. His kindness and sense of humor touched everyone who knew him. A retired UMWA Coal Miner, Bill worked tirelessly to provide for his family. A “Jack-of-all-trades” Bill often spent time helping those in need when he wasn’t working at the family farm fixing up his Allis Chalmers. Bill also was employed by Raybestos, a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge, as well as Past Exalted Ruler, and member of the VFW Post 2459.

Those left to mourn the loss of Bill are; his loving daughters, Carri Fisher Nemeth (Kenny McCammon) of Reelsville, IN, Leslie Perkinson (Ryan) of Sullivan, IN, and Amy Fisher Norwood (Bryndon Steele) of Sullivan, IN; grandchildren, Alex Brown (Hunter) of Sullivan, IN, Kyle Nemeth of Reelsville, IN, Jocy Monroe (Kade) of Sullivan, IN, Caden Nemeth of Reelsville, IN, and Kate Steele of Sullivan, IN; a great-grandson, Baylor Brown; and two sisters, Sandy Wilson and Molly Thompson (Gery).

He was preceded in death by his parents, nephew, Miles Thompson and Brother in Law, Donnis Wilson. 

There will be a celebration of Bill’s life held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at The Elks Lodge of Sullivan, 600 W Wolfe St. Sullivan, Indiana 47882. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Sullivan Elks 911 Cancer Fund P.O. Box 381 Sullivan, IN 47882.
