William “Bill” Luking, age 85, of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020 at his home. Bill was born October 8, 1935 in Vincennes, IN. to William H. and Frances (Zeabart) Luking.
Bill was married to the love of his life Frieda (Lloyd) Luking on May 5, 1957. Bill loved fishing, playing music and most of all trapshooting; he was a certified trap shooting instructor and was inducted into the Indiana Trapshooting Hall of Fame. Bill was involved with and a member of The Knights of Columbus, the Moose, the Elks, the American Legion, VFW, Okoboji Indians, The Amateur Trapshooting Association and many other organizations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Mary Ellen Spurgeon. Bill is survived by his loving wife Frieda; children, Robert Luking and Dr. Amy Schweitzer of Ellicot City, MD, Lori and Dr. Richard Snider of Vincennes and Karen and Terry Smith of Indianapolis; brothers and sisters, Margaret Hislip, John and Sue Luking and Jim and Nancy Luking; grandchildren, Erik and Lacy Snider, Sabra Snider, Katrina Luking, Emily Luking, Teran and Nhiya Smith, Calvin Luking, Phillip Snider, Luke Smith, Simon Snider and Jake Smith. Arrangements handled by Fredrick & Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes Vincennes. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 30 , 2020 at 10:00 AM at St. John Catholic Church, 803 Main Street, Vincennes, IN.
