Wanda R. Pirtle, 92, of Bonita Springs, Florida went to her heavenly home on Monday, May 22, 2023.
Wanda was born in Oaktown, Indiana on September 3, 1930 to the late Herbert McClure and Doris Bledsoe McClure.
Wanda was a homemaker, a member of the Oaktown Christian Church, and also an Eastern Star. She was a 1948 graduate of Oaktown High School. Wanda then married Gene Pirtle in September, 1948 and they spent forty-one wonderful years together. Gene worked construction; building, power plants, locks, dams, and lakes. This took Wanda and the family to various locations such as Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio, Maryland, and Louisiana. Wanda enjoyed traveling with the family, painting, ceramics, and photographing anyone and everyone. She also kept a very tight knit home with everything in it’s place.
Those left to mourn the loss of Wanda are; her daughter, Sandy Pirtle (Pete Mason) of Bonita Springs, FL; four grandchildren, Wendie Jo Pirtle of Salem, MA, Larry Joe Pirtle (Robin) of Rockville, IN, Brian Gene Pirtle of Beaufort, SC, and Suzanna Inman (Jared) from Rosedale, IN; four great-grandchildren, Riley Stohler, Jayleigh Inman, Givenchy Pirtle, and Jurnee Pirtle; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by; her parents, Herbert and Doris McClure; husband, Gene W. Pirtle Sr; two sons, Gene W. Pirtle Jr and Jerry Joe Pirtle; siblings, Frances Waldroup, Ward McClure, and Peggy Brown; niece, Connie Waite and great-niece, Lara Ann Lewis.
There will be a memorial visitation held on Monday, June 12, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. with a service immediately following at 1:00 P.M. at Fredrick and Son McClure Utt Funeral Home, Oaktown Chapel.
