Walter Joseph Bonhomme Obituary

Walter Joseph Bonhomme, a father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed peacefully on May18,2024. Born on January 31, 1936, in Wheatland, Indiana, he dedicated his life to his family, his work, and the simple pleasures that brought joy to him and those around him.
Walter attended local schools and proudly served his country in the Army before embarking on a fulfilling career as a welder for Vincennes Steel and later at the Coal Mine. He was a  member of the Wheatland Methodist Church, where he served and worshipped regularly.
He was married Norma Lucille Earley on January 30, 1959, in Wheatland. Together, they raised a family that included their  children Debra Klein (Donald) of Newbury Park, CA, and Donna Bonhomme of Vincennes, IN, and a grandson, Luke Klein.
His sisters, Vinette Byford of Heber Springs, AK, Beth Byers of Vincennes, IN, and half-sister Frances Florer, survive him. Walter was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Norma, his parents Jess and Edna Bonhomme, and brother Verne Bonhomme.
Walter will be remembered for his exceptional woodworking skills, his passion for fishing, and his care in tending to his beautiful flowers. 
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 1:00pm at Royal Oak Cemetery officiated by Pastor Jared Chattin.
