Obituary

Virginia Imogene Cockrum Bilyard, 85 of Vincennes, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 29, 2023.

Imogene was born in Sesser, IL on January 3, 1938 to the late Roberta Sample Cockrum and Wayne Kirkpatrick Cockrum.

Imogene retired from the government and after worked at Lowes. She enjoyed; gardening, sewing, painting, crafting, and cooking. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who attended church at Seventh Day Adventist. 

Those left to mourn the loss of Imogene are; children, Robert Wayne Newsom, Terri Lynn Newson Rollins, Karla J. Newsom Lewis, Mary Jo Newsom Myers; eight grandchildren, Amy Fourez Johnson, Cameron Fourez, Ashley Rogers, Kyle Lewis, Nikki Newsom,Jesse Rogers, Dakota Rogers, Kelsi Lewis Stubblefield; fifteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marlene Cockrum Payne.

She was preceded in death by; her husband Stanley Bilyard; son, John David Newsom, and a grandson, John Michael Newsom.

There will be a Celebration of Imogene‘s Life held at a later date. The family welcomes online condolences to be left at www.fredrickandson.com. Memorial contributions may be made to the Knox County Humane Society, 405 Main St. Vincennes, IN 47591.
