Steven Morris Lane, aged 71, of Vincennes, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2023, in Indianapolis, Indiana, leaving behind a legacy filled with warmth, dedication, and cherished memories. Born in Lawrenceville, Illinois on July 27, 1952, to the late Morris "Inky" Lane and Norma Spangler Lane, Steven was a spirited soul who embraced life with a joyous heart.
A proud veteran of the United States Navy, he served his country with honor before embarking on a successful career as a casino slot technician. His work not only showcased his technical skills but also his affable nature that made him well-liked among his colleagues and friends within the industry.
In his leisure, Steven was an avid enthusiast of dirt track races and an angler who found serenity in the ripple of the waters. Traveling to new destinations, feeding birds and squirrels, and rejoicing in the simple pleasure of spending time with his family were the highlights of his days.
Steven's rich life is commemorated by his former spouse and caregiver, Cathy Crews; his children, Johnathan Lane (Megan) of Evansville and Sarra Peters (Travis) of Vincennes; and his adored grandchildren, Lane Peters, Max Peters, Lily Grundon, Clementine Lane, and Morris Lane. He is also survived by his siblings, Terry Cox and Mark Lane (Julie). He was preceded in passing by his; parents, Morris and Norma Lane and a dear brother-in-law, Tom Cox.
Steven's passing leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of those who loved him. His legacy of kindness, love for his family, and zest for life will be remembered and honored always.
