Sondra Sue (Davis) Sievers, 82, Vincennes, IN, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Sondra was born October 26, 1935, in Vincennes, the daughter of Richard and Ellen (Clifton) Davis. She was a graduate of the Vincennes University Nursing Program and had a lifetime passion for nursing. She started her nursing career in the Mental Health Unit and later in a Medical Surgical Unit, both at Good Samaritan Hospital. She also worked as the plant nurse at Prestolite Battery Factory. Later in her career, she worked in home health care. She was a member of the Vincennes Fortnightly Club, Red Hat Society, and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Sondra is survived by four children; Stuart L. Sievers and his wife, Barb of Douglassville, PA, Michael J. Sievers and his fiancé, Tricia Burton of Vincennes; Sue Ellen Ballard of Carmel, IN, Diane Stephens and husband Gary, of Knoxville, TN. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Matthew Sievers and wife Maria and their children, Javier, Kyra, Ava and Jacob. Kathryn Hull and husband B.J., Stevie Sievers and Stephanie Sievers. Brock Sievers and wife Emily (White) and their children, Addison, Walker and Amelia. Dylan Sievers and wife, Shannon (Hinkle) and their children, Gunnar, Mila and Colt Michael. Brian Sievers and Clara Burton. Richard Ballard and David Ballard. Liza Banich and husband Nick, and their daughter, Morgan. Claire Sullivan and husband Michael and their daughter Emma Kate. Philip Stephens. Also survived by a sister, Anita Wolfe of Indianapolis, and sister-in-law, Robbie (Davis) Carie of Washington IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, John, Lyle and Ronnie Davis, and sisters, Connie Gognat and Naomi Zwolinski.
A memorial Mass will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. David Fleck officiating. Friends may pay their respects to Sondra’s family on Sunday, May 13, 2018 from 4:30 to 7:00 PM at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, 313 Church St. She will be laid to rest at Mt.Calvary Cemetery at a later date, as she has donated her body to Indiana University School of Medicine.
