Shirley (Brassine) Bratton

Shirley Bratton, 81 of Trinity Springs, peacefully went into eternal sleep while at her daughter’s home on August 27, 2021, with all of her loving family at her side; she was very loved and her family stood beside her through thick and thin, as she had done for them for many years.

Shirley was born on December 8, 1939 to the late John Brassine and Margie Baker Brassine in Martin County.

Shirley was a simple woman whose main concern in life was the well-being of her family and spending time with them. She loved sitting on the porch and talking to the family members she couldn’t see daily on the telephone.

Shirley is survived by; her daughters, Carrie Ann Bratton of Shoals; Cathy Seals (Dennis) of Loogootee; son-in-law, Larry Seals; grandchildren, Jill Lake (Ronnie Jones), Amber Gilbertson (Damon Baker), Tiffany Veilleux, Emily Bratton (Trevor Dages), Derek Conklin, Natalie Gibson (Aaron Hayden), Courtney Birkle (Robby), Brandi Judd, and Jenna Gibson (Cameron Brown). Great-grandchildren, Zane Lake, Remington Lake, Wyatt Sipes, Skyler Veilleux (Hunter Crays),Tyler Veilleux (Mavin), Elijah Veilleux (Rose Clauss), Caitlin Veilleux-Coghill (Levi), Brody Gilbertson, Aubri Gilbertson, Raegen Baker, Dallas Seals, Cale Gibson, Case Gibson, Vincent Gibson-Brown, Bailye Bratton, Noah Birkle, Jackson Birkle, Memphis Dages, Raleigh Dages, Myles Hayden, Masen Hayden, Carson Brown, and Zoee Brown; and one great-great grandson, Madex Veilleux; a brother, Kevin Brassine; and a sister, June Robbins (Larry).

She was preceded in death by; her parents; husband, John W. Bratton; daughter, Sherry Seals; son, John W. Bratton II, infant son, Robert Bratton;  grandson, Dustin Seals; siblings, Diane Bough, Lois Wininger, and Gary Brassine.

There will be a visitation held Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Dover Hill Christian Church, 15581 IN 450 Shoals, IN 47581 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00P.M.with a service immediately following at 1:00 P.M. also at the church with Rev. Schlaegal officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Springs Cemetery. You may leave online condolences at www.fredrickandson.com.
