Sarah (Ward) Posey

Sarah "Ward" Posey, a beacon of kindness and warmth, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024, in Vincennes, IN, at the age of 96. Born on December 30, 1927, in Bicknell, IN, Sarah's life was a testament to love, dedication, and grace.

Sarah graduated from high school in her hometown, where she laid the foundation of her lifelong passion for numbers and books. She spent her career diligently serving as a bookkeeper and secretary, roles in which she was both respected and beloved for her precision and friendliness.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoyed active memberships in the Bicknell French Club and the Baptist Church. Her interests were a colorful tapestry that included sewing, quilting, playing cards, and a spirited knack for playing pool, reflecting her lively and social nature.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved daughter, Janice "Posey" Wuebbles, her four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren, each a shining example of the love she poured into her family. Sarah was predeceased by her husband Max Posey, her parents, Joe and Mary "Gough" Ward, as well as her siblings, with whom she shared a profound bond that endured until her passing.

To say that Sarah was loving, kind, and friendly is to capture only a glimpse of her character. Her memory will continue to inspire and comfort her family, friends, and community who were touched by her incredible spirit.
