Sandra J. (Messeman) White Haney

Sandra J. Messeman White Haney, 82 of Ellettsville, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, August 9, 2020.

Sandra was born on April 16, 1938 in Bicknell to the late Catherine Smith Pannell and Pete Messeman.

Sandra was a 1956 graduate of Bicknell High School where she was a Majorette for 3 years and a drum Majorette her senior year. She worked at the Indiana Telephone Office prior to her marriage; after her marriage she began life as a military wife, and went wherever duty called their family. Upon her return to Bicknell she went to work for Tresslar’s Five and Dime, IGA, and was a Home Interior representative. After Sandra retired she enjoyed; quilting, crocheting, sewing, reading, and working as the church secretary at First Christian Church of Bicknell where she was a member. Sandra also held memberships with; Job’s Daughters (past honored queen), Eastern Star (past Worthy Matron), V.F.W. Women’s Auxiliary (lifetime member and past department secretary and president).

Sandra is survived by; her loving children, Michael White (Cindy), Patricia Sharkey (Paul), and Pamela Holmes (Jeff); siblings, Richard Messeman (Debbie), Catherine Reeves; 13 grandchildren, Jason Cary, Joshua Cary, Jason White, Christopher White, Jeremy White, Jennifer Sharkey, Katherine Sharkey, Jessica Sharkey, Meredith Sharkey, Blake Jones, Brittany Peach, Nathan Holmes, Jordyn Knudsen; and 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by; her husband, Cecil M. White; and a grandson, Joshua Paul Sharkey.

Visitation will be held at the Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes, Bicknell Chapel from 10 A.M. until 12 P.M. on Wednesday August 12, 2020, with a service officiated by Jon McKinnon immediately following also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bicknell Memorial Gardens. The service will be streamed through Facebook Live on the Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes page.

The family would also like to express their gratitude to Richland Bean-Blossom Health Campus and Southern Care Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Sandra.
