Russ “Floyd” Moody Obituary

Russ D. “Floyd” Moody  passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. He was born August 25, 1970, to Harold Jr. and Elizabeth “Tib” Moody.

Surviving is his wife Candice  “Candy” Michelle (Hall) Moody whom he married on December 16, 1995. They were married by Larry Davidson with Harold Jr Moody as best man and Dusty Wycoff as maid of honor. They were married 28 glorious years.

He was survived by one daughter, Shelby Lyn Moody (Miciah Potwin), two sons Cole Ryan (Alyssa) Moody and Adam Michael (Allyson) Moon. He had two brothers Reg Lyn (Mia) Moody and Rhett Alan (Holly) Moody. They also have three granddaughters, Alexa Madison Moon, Adrian Michelle Moon and Awbrey Rose Tatom, four grandsons, Anson Michael Moon, Waylon Ryan Moody, Kaison James Potwin and Kooper Wayne Potwin. He had several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Jr. Moody and Elizabeth (Tib) Moody, and a nephew, Austin Lyn Moody.

Russ had a passion for the funeral home business and worked at the Utt Funeral Home for five years. He then went to work at the coal mine for 30 years. He was also a volunteer fire fighter for Busseron Township for 35 years. Russ was proud to be from Oaktown; his caring and charismatic nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Russ was a devoted husband, father, and grandpa. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and anything to do with his family. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all that knew him.

Visitation will be at Mariah Creek Church on Saturday, February 24,2024 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM with a service immediately following. Burial will follow in the Oaktown cemetery. you may leave online condolences at www.fredrickandson.com.
