Ronnie Alexander Obituary

Ronnie G. Alexander, aged 82, of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away on February 12, 2024, in the quaint city of Vincennes. He entered this world on January 14, 1942, born to the late Helen Hoghland Alexander and Virgil Alexander, he led a life marked by dedication and service. He was a 1967 Graduate of Murray State College earning his Bachelor’s degree.

Ronnie's journey through life was characterized by his unwavering commitment to enriching his community. He touched many lives through his role as an athletic director for the YMCA and was honored with the Ray Beless Award for his formidable contributions to community service. His vocational accolades were a mirror of his passion—bringing people together for a healthier, stronger society.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Ronnie was a cherished member of the Moose Lodge and devoutly dedicated to his faith community at the Community United Methodist Church. These affiliations provided him with both a spiritual foundation and a fellowship that amplified the joy in his life.

His family was the cornerstone of his happiness. Although preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Alexander, his legacy is lovingly carried on by his foster son, Mark Evans of Vincennes; brother, Stephen Allen Alexander (Patricia) of Evansville; and a cherished niece, Shannon Alexander also of Evansville. Ronnie’s infectious generosity, indomitable spirit, and warm smile will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
