Richard Noonan Jr. Obituary

A true example of how to live and how to die, Richard Alan Noonan, Jr., 73, loving husband, father, grand-father, and great grand-father died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 27th, 2022. He was born in Vincennes, Indiana, son to Richard and LaVonda Noonan. A devoted father, avid golfer, and purple martin bird enthusiast, enjoyed spending time with those he loved and never missed a Cardinals game.

Richard graduated from North Knox High School and met the love of his life, Mona (Martin) Noonan at just 17 years old. Married in 1967, he and his wife of 55 years, went on to build a beautiful life and family together, which was his greatest achievement and proudest accomplishment.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and LaVonda Noonan. Those left to cherish his memory are loving wife Mona Noonan, siblings Callie (Kenny) Zak of Tupelo, MS and Doug (Cheryl) Noonan of Westphalia, IN, children Melissa (Barry) Wright of Cincinnati, OH, Rachelle (Pat) Hamilton of Elizabeth, CO, and Brent (Carrie) Noonan of Sandborn, IN, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Richard will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Per Richard’s request, there will be no services or memorials. In lieu of flowers and gifts, please consider doing a good deed for someone in need. And in the end, it’s not the years in a life, it’s the life in the years.
