Paul Edward Dillon, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away at the age of 92 on June 29, 2025, in Vincennes, IN. Paul was born on July 12, 1932. He spent his life on his farm in Bicknell, IN, dedicated to his family, his land, and the many friends he made along his journey.
Paul's work ethic was unparalleled. As the founder of Dillon Trucking and Farming, he exuded a passion for his profession that was evident to all who knew him. He was a man who found his greatest joys in the seat of his bulldozer or working with his trackhoe, always proving that happiness truly does come from doing what one loves.
A loving husband, Paul married his sweetheart, Nancy Sue "Wright" Dillon, on September 22, 1956. Together, they shared a beautiful life until her passing. His commitment to family was unwavering, evidenced by the legacy he leaves in his beloved children: Elaine Pepmeier (Bruce) of Freelandville; John Dillon (Dana) of Wheatland; and Jim Dillon (Mindy) of Bicknell.
Paul's laughter and wisdom will be cherished by his eight grandchildren: Blake Dillon (McKenna), Kelsey Oladubu (Mayowa), Clint Pepmeier (Chauncie), Bailey Finley (Isaac), Lauren DeHosse (Chance), Macy Wheat (Kole), Hannah Dillon, and Jacob Dillon. His five great-grandchildren - Brody and Madelyn Finley and Owen, Ford, and Eliza DeHosse, will grow up with stories of their great-grandfather's love and strong character.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Small of Bicknell. As well as his fiancée, Linda Rudolph of Bicknell, who filled his later years with joy and companionship. Paul's family extends beyond bloodlines, as his church community and the surrounding areas will remember him as a faithful and steadfast friend.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Bertha Mae "Deal" Dillon; his loving wife, Nancy Sue "Wright" Dillon; and his brother, Tom Dillon.
Paul's life was a testament to the values of hard work, devotion to loved ones, and the ability to find contentment in one's daily pursuits. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him and in the thriving fields and farms he tended with such care. As we bid farewell to Paul Edward Dillon, we celebrate a life extraordinarily well-lived.
