Patricia Ann (Johnson) Wenz

Mrs. Patricia Ann Johnson Wenz, 84 of Bicknell, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, December 25, 2021.

Patricia was born on November 5, 1937 in Odon, IN to the late Curtis Johnson and Maude Pat Corbin Fairhurst.

Patricia worked as a nurse for 55 years. She graduated from the Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1958 – The first graduating class of its kind. She later received her Bachelor of Nursing from Saint Mary of the Woods College in Terre Haute, Indiana. 

Pat worked at Good Samaritan Hospital for 40 years. She began her nursing career in OB and retired as Head Nurse Manager of the ER. She then went on to work as a nurse for Dr. Victor Kirchoff until the ripe old age of 81. 

Pat was a lifetime member of Bicknell United Methodist Church where she played the organ and piano during Sunday Service. She was an active member of the United Methodist Women’s Group and former member of the Sweet Adeline’s choir group.   

Pat loved reading on her deck, playing euchre, watching Indiana University Basketball, weekly lunches with her retired nurse friends, and spending time with her family. 

She is survived by her loving husband, John Wenz; two children, Alicia Carlisle (John) of Bicknell and JohnAdam Wenz (Lori) of Modesto, California; three grandchildren, Carly Carlisle, Aidan and Brynna Wenz; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; and two brothers, Loy Johnson and Vance Fairhurst.

There will be a service held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. with visitation from 3:00 P.M. until time of service, at Bicknell United Methodist Church, 309 W. 3rd St. Bicknell, IN 47512.
