Patricia Ann Shipley

Patricia "Trish" Ann Shipley, 77, of Vincennes, passed away Monday, August 24, 2020.  She was born February 11,1943, in Burnt Prairie, Illinois, the Daughter of Harold Graham and Lura Lucille (Hunsinger) Calkin.  Trish was a retired librarian and a member of the First Baptist Church.  She was an avid poet (and coffee drinker), and even had one of her poems recorded as a country and western song.  Though Trish was a kind sole who loved everyone she met, she was fiercely competitive when playing games.  Her love of words practically ensured her regular victory during family games of Scrabble.  Although she did not get out much in recent years, she valued the company, conversations, and loyalty of her friends, neighbors, and family. 
Trish is survived by nieces; Pam Harrington of Bridgeport, Illinois and Jeanne Beauprez of Martinsville, Indiana, a nephew Tim Padgett of Indianapolis, IN, and numerous great-nieces/nephews and cousins.
  
Patricia is preceded in death by her husband Otto E. Shipley, her parents, Harold Graham and Lura Lucille (Hunsinger) Calkin; a Sister Rubie (Calkin) Padgett and a nephew John Padgett.
A graveside service will take place on Saturday August 29, 2020 at 9:30 A.M. E.D.T. at Liberty Cemetery, County Road 600 East, Burnt Prairie, Illinois.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.fredrickandson.com.
