Patricia McCormack Obituary

Patricia Ann McCormack, 86, of Vincennes, Indiana passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 8:37pm at the BridgePointe Health Campus in Vincennes, IN, surrounded by beloved family after a 10-month battle with breast cancer.

Patricia was born on June 8,1937 to Leafy Hester (Shouse) Combs and Robert Wayne Combs. She was a graduate of the Vincennes Lincoln High School Class of 1955. She married the love of her life; Gene R. McCormack on October 27,1962 and they were happily married 31 years before he passed away on October 24, 1993. Together they had four children, Robert “Bob”, George, Theresa and John.

Patricia was a homemaker who stayed home to raise her children and to care for her son John, who was severely handicapped. In her spare time, she loved to bird watch, collect cows, sew many items and was well known for her craftsmanship of her Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. She also loved to crochet while sitting in her recliner and watching her TV shows.

Patricia was a woman of faith and was a long-time member of the Central Church of Christ in Vincennes, Indiana. She had a very loving and kind spirit and she loved to give back to the community and beyond. One of the ways she would give back was through her art of crocheting. She would crochet hats and donate them to the Good Samaritan Cancer Center and to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital for cancer patients.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Leafy Combs, and her husband, Gene McCormack.  She is survived by her four children, Robert “Bob” (Margie) McCormack, of Vincennes, IN, George (Tammy) McCormack of Casper, Wyoming, Theresa (Dave) Patton of Bruceville, IN and John McCormack of Freelandville, IN.  Six grandchildren,
