Oma A. "Bringwald" Like, a lifelong resident of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away on February 28, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on May 14, 1934, in the same welcoming town of Vincennes, she was a cherished embodiment of the community's spirit and heart.
A beloved matriarch, Oma was the loving center of her family. She is survived by her devoted children, Cynthia Cerveny of Bicknell, Cathy Hardig of Wheatland, and Randal Like of Owensville. Her legacy is further celebrated by her six grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored and inspired with her wisdom and kindness. Oma's life was marked by the profound love she shared with her late husband, Harley I. Like, who preceded her in death. She was also greeted in eternal rest by her parents, Louis and Mary A. "McCoy" Bringwald, her grandson Donnie Hardig III, three brothers, and five sisters.
After graduating high school, Oma ventured into a life of love and entrepreneurship, marrying her soulmate, Harley, on a festive Christmas Eve in 1950. Together, they built a home filled with warmth and welcome, Oma's hands shaping both their family life and their business endeavors. Known for her loving nature, friendly smile, and wise counsel, Oma's impact on her family and friends was as profound as it was enduring.
Oma's journey may have come to a close in the same town where it began, yet her influence and the memories she crafted will resonate through the generations. She will be deeply missed and eternally treasured for the tenderness and strength she embodied throughout her life.
There will be a graveside service on Monday, March 3rd, 2025, at 2:45 pm, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences and fond memories may be made at www.fredrickandson.com. Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt, Vincennes Chapel, is honored to be entrusted with Mrs. Like’s arrangements.
