Nancy Alice Wheatley

Nancy Alice Wheatley 78, of Gyro IN passed away surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday January 17, 2023 at Deaconess Gateway.
Nancy was born May 14, 1944 in Urbana Ohio to the late Virginia Degenhart and late Roy Junior Prickett.
Nancy retired from the Indiana Correctional Facility in Carlisle Indiana where she got to do one of her favorite things, boss men around.  Nancy loved to sing, especially songs from musicals; she loved anything to do with John Wayne, baby dolls, spending time with her grandchildren, and gossiping about anything and everything. 
Nancy leaves behind her loving husband Richard (Ricki) Wheatley of Gyro Indiana; children Lana (Larry) Knowles of Mt Carmel IL, Timothy (Sabrina) Frederick of Princeton IN, and Charles (Janna) Frederick of Princeton IN; a brother John Kinfield of Glenrock WY; grandchildren Nathanael (Brandi) Kell of Hazleton IN, Fauna (Matt) Verley of Oakland City IN, Marcus (Katie) Culp of Decker IN, Kaela (James) Wells of Patoka IN, Chantel (Chris) Horton of Lancaster IL, Toni (Chris) Turner of Fairfield IL, Jacob Frederick of Princeton IN, Cyi (Kurt) Gomez of Princeton IN, Julia Ermer Germany, Luke (Krista) Ducharme of Patoka IN,  and Josie Ducharme of Washington IN; 28 Great Grandkids and 1 Great Great Granddaughter.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Virginia and Caleb "Dallas" Degenhart of Hazleton, Brother Jim Prickett of Hazleton, Sister-in-law Catherin Kinfield of Glenrock WY, daughters Theresa Frederick and Dallas Ducharme and grandson Zachary Frederick.  
The family would like to thank the Good Samaritan Home and Rehabilitation Center Cottage Home staff in Oakland City for the loving care that they gave to our Mom, we know she was well cared for while staying with you.
The family welcomes all to a memorial visitation at Frederick & Son McClure Utt Funeral Home 313 Church St Vincennes Indiana on Sunday January 22, 2023 from 11 to 1PM.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.fredrickandson.com.
