Nancy Lou Kixmiller, cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2024, at the age of 90 in Bruceville, Indiana. Born on April 25, 1934, in Vincennes, Indiana, Nancy grew up to be a spirited and kind soul whose warm presence was a blessing to her community.
After obtaining her Bachelor's degree, she married the love of her life, Earl Wayne Kixmiller, on December 3, 1955, in Freelandville, IN. She devoted her professional life to nursing, caring for patients at various locations before retiring from P.A.C.E. as the Director of Nursing. Her compassionate spirit was not only evident in her professional career but was a guiding principle in all facets of her life.
A dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, Nancy found her greatest joy in the love and care of her family. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kathy Murphy (Gary) of Bicknell and Karen Parker of Bruceville; her adored seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren who brought her immeasurable happiness; and her sisters, JoAnn Singleton Nomady of Freelandville, Janet Diekeman of Oaktown, and Mary Bedwell of Freelandville. Nancy was welcomed into the arms of her beloved husband, Earl, her parents, Virgil and Ruth "Brooks" Hollingsworth, and her son, Kim Wayne Kixmiller, who preceded her in death.
Nancy was an active member of Bethel Church and enjoyed many years attending the Freelandville Methodist Church. Whether she was supporting her grandchildren at sporting events or going antiquing, her enthusiasm was infectious. Nancy was always ready to share a moment of joy or a comforting word with those around her.
Nancy Lou Kixmiller's legacy is one of unwavering love, service to others, and a joyful spirit that touched everyone she met. She will be missed immeasurably but forever remembered in the hearts she leaves behind.
