Myra Jean (Mengedoht) Snyder

Myra “Jean” Snyder (Mengedoht), 72, of Cloverdale, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, December 12, 2019.

Jean was born on June 16, 1947 in Vincennes, IN to the late Denver and Rachel Mengedoht. Jean was married to Harold Bruce Snyder on January 21, 1968 in Oaktown. She was employed by the Indiana Department of Education, was a homemaker, and childcare provider. Her love of children kept her in touch with many of her students that she taught, as she was a Kindergarten teacher for many years. Most all of Jean’s activities were child driven, she enjoyed being a Sunday school teacher, volunteering at VBS, and supported Head Start.

Jean is survived by; her loving husband, Harold Bruce Snyder; daughter, Selina Snelling (Mark); son, Jerry Snyder (Laura); grandchildren, Justin Snyder, Cassandra Allgood (Patrick), Clarissa Just (Alex), Peyton Coar (Dustin), and Toryn Hickman (Tim); great-grandchildren, Rachel, Laurali, and Hadley; sisters, Marilyn Mengedoht, and Joyce Mackey.

Jean was also preceded in death by a brother, Denny Mengedoht.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 16, 2019 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Faith Baptist Church, 11612 IN-243 Cloverdale, IN 46120 with a service immediately following also at the church. There will be a committal service following at 3:00 P.M. at Mariah Creek Cemetery in Oaktown. You may leave an online condolence at www.fredrickandson.com.
