Michael E. Byford, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2025, in the comfort of his home in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born on December 1, 1957, to Melvin and Olive “Deisher” Byford in Fort Sheridan, Illinois.
After receiving his Bachelor’s degree, Mike worked at several factories around Knox County, but he finished his employment at Gemtron in Vincennes, Indiana. Here, he developed relationships with his friends that were as close as a second family.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved Margie Hutchinson, and their two dogs, Sissy and Pez.
Mike is survived by his sister, Patricia Fisher (Burke) of West Salem, Illinois, his son, Brad Byford (Corina) of New Concord, Kentucky, his grandsons, Henry and Timothy Byford of New Concord, Kentucky, his nephews, Frank Fisher (Missy) of Albion, Illinois and Nicholas Fisher of Boca Raton, Florida, his niece, Rachel Fisher of West Salem, Illinois, his great-grandniece, Laryn Albion (Cody) of Grayville, Illinois, his great-grandnephew, Jace Albion also of Grayville, Illinois, and his great-great-grandniece, Macy.
Mike is survived by his closest friends and second family, the second shift of Gemtron and the Bonding Boys. He is also survived by his and Margie’s beloved cat, Chirp. Mike will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
