Mattie B. Pixley, 93, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023, in Franklin, Tennessee. Born on June 30, 1930, in Elkins, West Virginia to the late Rachel and James Bohon, Mattie was a beacon of love and strength to all who knew her. She joins in rest; her beloved husband, Harold Pixley, and her sisters, Barbara Butterbaugh and Susan Nelson.
Mattie's legacy flourishes through her children, Harold Shelby Pixley Jr. and Matthew Pixley; her four cherished grandchildren; and her adored great-grandchild. A devoted homemaker, her gentle presence filled the Pixley home with warmth, joy, and the aroma of her delightful cooking. She dedicated countless hours to quilting, enriching her family's lives with her crafted artistry.
Mattie’s faith was unwavering; she found solace and fellowship as a devout member of the United Methodist Church. Her involvement in Bible study reflected her commitment to her spiritual journey. Her passion for painting allowed her to capture the beauty of the world she so loved. Mattie will be remembered for her enduring love for her family, her kindhearted spirit, and the grace with which she lived her life.
