Mary P (Kellems) Berryman

Mary P. Berryman 89, of Vincennes, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born in Marion, Indiana on August 9, 1933 to the late Dell Lewis Lain and Prentice Kellems Sr.

Mary was a member of the Edwardsport United Methodist Church where she was a very active member. Mary and her husband Gary enjoyed crafting and flea marketing together for over 25 years. Mary loved to quilt with her friends weekly for many years. She loved going to Bible study groups and spending time with her fellow church members and her family. Mary was employed by Gossards later worked for Hostess and then became a homemaker.

Those left to mourn the loss of Mary are; her loving children, David Johnson (Bette) of Edwardsport, Mary Ann Cress of Bicknell, and Ed M. Johnson Jr (Jane Phegley) of Sullivan; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; a brother, Norman Lain (Darryl) of Tell City, daughter-in-law Melissa Johnson.

She was preceded in death by; her parents Dell Lain (Gus), and Prentice Kellems Sr; a son, William Johnson; two brothers, Prentice Kellems Jr and Bill Lain; and a sister-in-law, Betty Lain.

There will be a service on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes, Bicknell Chapel with visitation from 10:00 until the time of service. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Knox County Humane Society.
