Marjorie Pepmeier-Whittington Obituary

Marjorie Louise Pepmeier-Whittington, a treasured member of Vincennes and a beacon of kindness, passed away on May 20th, 2024 at the age of 84. Born on March 3rd, 1940 in Pike County, Marjorie's life was marked by her unwavering love for her family, her commitment to her work, and her zest for life.

With great sorrow, yet cherishing many loving memories, her family announces her passing. Marjorie leaves behind her devoted husband, Spencer Whittington of Vincennes, IN. She was the heart of her family which includes her son, Bryan Pepmeier (Rebecca) of Monroe City, IN; her adored grandchildren, Kelby Pepmeier (Mackenzie), Tad Pepmeier of Vincennes, IN, and Elijah Pepmeier; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Kaden and Kynlee Pepmeier. Her loving sister, Marylin Chambers (Max) of Vincennes, IN, also survives her. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Clark and Vivian "Loveless" Clark, as well as her first husband, John Pepmeier.

Marjorie's professional life was spent in service to others at Good Samaritan Healthcare, where her diligent work and warm presence left a lasting impact. A woman of education, she earned an Associates Degree that served her well throughout her career.

Upon marrying John Pepmeier on January 5th, 1960, Marjorie began a lifetime of love and partnership. After John's passing, she found love once more and married Spencer Whittington on September 9th, 2021, in Bicknell, IN. Her dedication to the Eastern Star and the First Baptist Church in Bicknell, IN, spoke volumes of her faith and community spirit.

A woman of diverse interests, Marjorie possessed a talent for painting, a passion for gardening, and an insatiable desire for traveling and sightseeing. She relished her shopping excursions, always on the lookout for the next interesting find.

Described by those who knew her as interesting, loving, and kind, Marjorie's legacy is one of warmth, generosity, and a life richly lived. She will be profoundly missed, and her spirit will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
