Marjorie DeLisle Obituary

Marjorie Kay DeLisle, a beloved sister, aunt, and cherished member of the Vincennes community, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2024, at the age of 78, in the same town where she was born on May 19, 1945. Marjorie's life was one marked by her unwavering dedication to her family, her passion for nursing, and her joyous spirit that brought light and laughter to everyone she encountered.
Marjorie spent her entire life in Vincennes, Indiana, where she was born to the late Irene Marie "Little" DeLisle and Walter "Bub" Joseph DeLisle, Sr. She was the loving sister to Wally DeLisle (Sandi) of Vincennes, Marilyn Goodwin of Vincennes, and Joe DeLisle (Marie) of Vincennes. Her life was further enriched by the love and antics of her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Mary Lou DeLisle, Patricia Coley, Joan Parker, and Kathy DeLisle, who no doubt welcomed her with open arms.
Marjorie's academic pursuits led her to earn an Associate’s Degree in Nursing, which paved the way for a fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse. She served with compassion and professionalism as a Nursing Supervisor at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Known for her caring nature and exceptional skills, Marjorie was not just a good nurse; she was an extraordinary one, touching the lives of countless individuals with her kindness and expertise.
Her commitment to service extended beyond her professional life. Marjorie was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, where she formed many lasting friendships and contributed to various community activities.
Marjorie's interests and hobbies painted a picture of a woman who embraced life with enthusiasm. She had a particular fondness for gambling, an activity that brought her excitement and joy. More importantly, she cherished the moments spent with her nieces and nephews, creating memories that they will hold close to their hearts forever.
As we say goodbye to Marjorie, we celebrate a life well-lived and a soul that brought so much joy to others. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is at peace and reunited with those she has missed for so long. Marjorie's story is one of a life filled with love, service, and the simple pleasures that make life worth living. She will be profoundly missed, but her legacy of kindness and compassion will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
