Marilyn Prince Obituary

Marilyn Prince, a beloved aunt, sister, and friend, passed away at the age of 89 on September 26, 2025, in Vincennes, IN. Born on July 3, 1936, in Knox County, IN, Marilyn was full of spirit, quick-witted, and fiercely independent.

Marilyn was a cherished member of her family, providing guidance, joy, and love in plentiful measure. Survivors include her three sons, her daughter-in-law, and her grandchildren, a dear sister, Donna Ault, her brother-in-law James Johnson, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews who fondly remember her warmth and grace. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William D. Prince; her parents, Harry Chaney and Mary M. "Faulkner" Chaney-Mengedoht; and her sister, Patricia Johnson, who now welcomes her into eternal peace.

In her professional life, Marilyn distinguished herself as a factory supervisor at Avon and later as a director at Marriott, where she was known for her leadership abilities and her nurturing spirit. Her work ethic and dedication to her roles set a remarkable example for both her colleagues and family.

Marilyn’s vivacity extended beyond her career into her active involvement in community associations. She served as the past president of the Kiwanis Club in Florida, where she channeled her passion for service into significant contributions that benefited many. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life; she attended Bruceville Christian Church and the First Baptist Church in Bicknell, where her presence was a source of comfort and encouragement to the congregation.

Her personal interests reflected her love for engagement and creativity. Marilyn found great joy in playing cards and Yahtzee, activities that allowed her to connect with friends and family in laughter and competition. She also possessed exceptional talent in knitting and crocheting, crafting beautiful pieces that became treasured keepsakes.

Marilyn will be dearly missed and remembered for her enduring kindness and the friendliness that she extended to all. Her legacy of compassion, strength, and community service will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know her. As we bid farewell to Marilyn Prince, we celebrate a life extraordinarily lived and the countless lives she touched. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and in the many lives she impacted both through her work and through her generous deeds.
