Lois E. "Beachler" Shaw, a cherished mother, sibling, and friend, passed away on January 27th, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on June 19th, 1935, in Bicknell, IN, she grew into a remarkable woman who touched the lives of everyone around her. Lois's last days were spent in Freelandville, IN, surrounded by love and comfort.
Lois graduated from high school and embarked on a joyful union with the love of her life, Jack L. Shaw, on June 3, 1956, at the Bicknell Methodist Church. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter until Jack preceded her in death. In the span of her career, Lois was known for her warm presence as a teller at the First National Bank, where she served the community with utmost professionalism and kindness.
Family meant everything to Lois. She was the dedicated mother to Jon Gillespie Shaw of Bicknell, IN, Jay Howard Shaw of Bicknell, IN, and Glenn Edward Shaw of Indianapolis, IN. She also leaves behind a legacy of love within her sister, Janice Hudson (James) of Shoals, IN. Her life was one of connection and shared joy, but she also knew loss, having been preceded in death by her husband, Jack, her son, Jack Shaw Jr., her siblings, Louise Hunter and Larry Beachler, and her parents, Forrest and Glenn "Howard" Beachler.
Lois's faith was a cornerstone of her life, and was a member of the Bicknell Methodist Church, she shared her spiritual journey with her church family. Her dedication to faith and community shone through in her actions and the grace with which she lived her life.
There will be a visitation on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Bicknell Chapel.
