Lisa Marlene Sanders, a beacon of love and kindness to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2024, in Vincennes, IN. Born in Indianapolis, IN, on July 18, 1953, Lisa's warmth and friendliness left an indelible mark on her community.
Lisa's life was one characterized by unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and passion. She shared 51 years of marriage with her husband, Vaughn Kenwood Sanders, with whom she built an enduring legacy of love. She was a cherished sister to Dana Churchill of Bicknell, IN. Lisa was a nurturing aunt to her many nieces and nephews, whose lives she touched with her love and wisdom. She also cherished her in-laws who are also left to mourn her.
Lisa brought joy and fairness to her role as a manager at Hucks. Her associates degree propelled her into a successful career in retail sales, where she was known for her friendly demeanor. Lisa's interests included being a voracious reader and expressing her creativity through crochet and sewing. She especially cherished the time spent with her sister, creating memories that will now be held dear.
Though preceded in death by her mother, Mildred “Hooper” Christy, her sister Kim Faith, and many beloved in-laws, Lisa's legacy is carried on through her warmth, generosity, and the continued embrace of the family and friends who were fortunate to have been loved by her.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 11:00 am at Ashbury Chapel Cemetery officiated by Pastor Matt Hoffman and Pastor Jon McKinnon.
