Lela Mae Anderson

Lela Mae (Johnson) Anderson, 96, of Bicknell, passed away April 3 2019, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes.  Lela was born on, September 23, 1922, in Clay County, Indiana, the daughter of E. Frank and Iva (Haviland) Johnson. She married Carl (Big Dog) Anderson on April 22, 1938. He preceded her in death on August 22, 2004. 

Lela had worked at PSI in Bicknell and also at John Welsh’s Brokerage House in Vincennes. She was a member of the Asbury Chapel Methodist Church, the North Knox Social Ministries, and she was a Blue Lady for the Good Samaritan Hospital.

She is survived by her children; James Frank (Roberta) Anderson of Terre Haute, Nancy (Eric) Forst of Garrett, Carl (Norma) Anderson of Jeffersonville, and David (Teresa) Anderson of Bruceville. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren. Along with her husband, Lela was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Carol Hulen, and three grandsons, Chad Anderson, Kevin Anderson, and Terry Shake.

A Memorial service will take place on Saturday May 25, 2019, at 2:00 P.M.  at the Bicknell Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum in Bicknell. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Bicknell Memorial Cemetery.
