Obituary
Larry Joe Shawhan, 72 of Harlingen TX, formerly of Plainville, passed unexpectedly on Monday, February 20, 2023.
Larry was born in Vincennes, IN on August 17, 1950 to John B. Shawhan and Jo Ann Manning Shawhan.
Larry retired from the United States Air-force after 20 years of service. He was stationed at San Antonio, TX and Korea. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family. Larry was an elder at Parkview Christian Church of Plainville and attended Combs Methodist Church of Harlingen.
Those left to mourn the loss of Larry are; his loving wife, Yong Hui Shawhan; son, Leighton J. Shawhan (Rebekah) of Harlingen, TX; grandchildren, Lexi, Landon, and Lydia Shawhan of Harlingen, TX; father, John B. Shawhan of Plainville; and a sister, Jerri Ann Bennington (Tom) of Washington, IN.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jo Ann Shawhan.
There will be a visitation on Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Parkview Christian Church, 12 NW 2nd Street Plainville, IN with a service on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. also at the church. Burial will follow in Plainville Cemetery with military graveside honors. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the charity of choice, as they will be traveling.
