Lanette Marie Onken 57, of Oaktown In, passed away July 25, 2020 at her Residence. Lanette was born February 28, 1963, in Vincennes In, the Daughter of Gary and Wanda (Miller) Onken. She graduated from in Lincoln high School Class of . Lanette was a medic in the army and later a substance abuse counselor. She loved to crochet, fish, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren that were her world; Frank ,Anastasia, Madelyn, Julian, Maddix, Marissa, Mylee, Andi, Aleecia, Jamie, Braevin, Brian Jr, and Jackson. Lanette is survived by her companion, Anita Medina of Oaktown IN; her children, Brandi McGauley (Paul Kingsley) of Oaktown, IN, Anna Rodriguez of Oaktown, IN, Bertha Chambers (Kevin) of San Antonio, TX, Frank Rodriguez (Eunmi) of Silverdale, WA, Joe Rodriguez (Meagan) of Oaktown, IN, and Brian Rodriguez (Megan) of Oaktown, IN; her parents, Gary and Wanda Onken of Vincennes, IN; two siblings, Andy Onken (Carmon) of Vincennes, IN and Janelle Mack (Joey) of Vincennes, IN;  her beloved Dog Marlie, and best friend John Richardson Jr they spent mornings drinking coffee together. Graduated high school 1981. She played basketball and was a top lady Alice in her high school years at Lincoln high school later carried her basketball career to the army. After the Army she got her degree at our lady of the lake university. She spent her entire career being a nurse. She was such a caring person that would do anything for anyone that was is in need. Her life was taken away to quick. She will be missed dearly by her loving family and friends . She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents. The family will receive friends on Thursday July 30, 2020 from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. at the Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes Oaktown Chapel with Military honors preformed by the All Weather Firing Squad at 4 P.M. Memorial Contributions may be made to the family to help defray expenses. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.fredrickandson.com.
