Kenneth Wayne Joice, 72, of Vincennes passed away August 1, 2021 at Deaconess Midtown hospital in Evansville. He was born November 1, 1948, the son of Kenneth H. and Agnes C. (Kocher) Joice. He married Mary F. Yochum on Oct 14, 1967 and she survives.
Wayne believed that nothing was more important than faith, family, & friends. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, St. Thomas Men’s Club, Honorary member of the St. Thomas cemetery board, Third degree member of Knights Columbus # 712, and was inducted into The Simon Brute Society in 2009.
He worked at Superior Essex for 38 years, Solar Sources Coal Mine, and Schott Gemtron. He was an avid collector of many treasures which he shared with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Joice, daughter Angie (Joe) Schitter of Jasper, and son Joe (Kristan) of Baltimore. His pride and joy were his 5 grandchildren - Mitch, Becca, and Ben Schitter of Jasper and Roland and Annabel Joice of Baltimore. Also cherishing memories of Wayne are his sisters Linda Doll, Evansville, Maria (Chuck) Marcroft, Vincennes, Susie (Don) Pieper, Bicknell, and Mary Jo (Dave) Hill of Petersburg, and also his extended family of Margaret Snider, Tom and Ruth Yochum, Betty and Gary Butler, Cecilia and Steve Rusch, Sr., Kenny Ellermann, George and Jody Vieck, David and Jana Yochum, Theresa and Earl Pahmeier, Nancy and BJ Thomas, Deacon Clet and Cathy Yochum, and Dan and Marcia Yochum.
Visitation will be held Thursday August 5, 2021 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Fredrick & Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes Vincennes Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St Thomas Catholic Church 10 A.M. Friday August 6, 2021 with Father Tony Ernst officiating, burial will follow in the St. Thomas church cemetery.
