Judith "Judy" Thompson, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, was called home to be with the Lord on June 15th, 2023. Born in Washington, Indiana on October 9th, 1951, Judy remained a proud and devoted resident of her hometown all her life. She is survived by her daughters: Therese Neidige (Juan Banos), Dawnyell Neidige, and Aeryona Thompson, and her son, Jace Neidige, longtime friends: ShelilaRoach-Parsons and Rick Shelton.
On March 30, 1990, Judy married the love of her life, Tim Thompson, in Washington, Indiana.
Judy's life was filled with the laughter and joy of her many grandchildren: Savannha Neidige, Nicholas Neidige, Brook Neidige, Carmella Cato, Izabella Cato, and Gianna Cato. She was also blessed to know and cherish her great-grandchildren, Layla Neidige and Quillan Knightley. Her siblings, Danny Roark and Donna Mize, and her nephews, Michael Mize and Christopher Roark, and niece, Joanna Roark, will remember her with love and fondness.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Tim Thompson and Son, Gary Neidige and longtime friend Alice Joan Aldrich.
As a homemaker, Judy dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for her family. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and love, where the aroma of her delicious home-cooked meals filled the air. Her children and grandchildren will forever cherish the memories of gathering around the dinner table, listening to her stories and sharing in her laughter. Judy's love extended beyond her immediate family, as she opened her heart and home to many children as a foster parent. She believed that every child deserved a loving and safe home, and she provided that for countless young souls throughout her life. Her legacy of love will continue to live on in the lives of those she touched.
A woman of many talents and interests, Judy found joy in the beauty of nature. She was an avid flower gardener, creating a vibrant and colorful oasis in her backyard for all to enjoy. Her fascination with butterflies was a testament to her appreciation for the delicate and fleeting nature of life. In her garden, she found solace and inspiration, and she shared that beauty with all who visited her home.
Judy's love for music and dance was infectious. She could often be found singing, dancing, and playing the tambourine, filling her home with the sounds of joy and celebration. She was a member of Victory Community Church in Washington, Indiana.
There will be visitation for Judy, on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. with her Funeral service immediately following at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Pete Aldrich officiating all at Fredrick and Son-Gill Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sugarland Cemetery. Fredrick and Son-Gill Funeral Home, Washington, Indiana is honored to assist Judy’s family with arrangements.
