Judith (Helderman) Phillippe

Judith Phillippe, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2023, in Vincennes, Indiana. Born on September 16, 1944, in Knox County, she was the cherished daughter of the late Hugh and Margaret "Wolfe" Helderman.

Judy graduated from Bruceville High School in 1962 and embarked on a fulfilling career that spanned several decades. She began as a bank teller, later working at Red and White in the deli, and Freelandville Community Home. She retired from God Samaritan Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.

On January 28th, 1966, she married the love of her life, Robert G. Phillippe, who predeceased her. Together, they raised two sons, Marty (Lora) Phillippe of Vincennes, Indiana, and Mark Phillippe of Bruceville, Indiana. She was a doting grandmother to Holden and Koen Lewis, and Everlee Phillippe. She was also a loving aunt to several nieces and nephews that she loved just like her own children. They each had a special place in her heart. She was predeceased by her siblings, Helen Jackson, Harold Helderman, Hubert Helderman, and Emily Bare.

Judy was a woman of many interests, Judy and Bob could have been seen every Friday at the French Club in Bicknell socializing at the weekly drawing. They also looked forward to their daily trips into town to visit with friends and family. They both thoroughly enjoyed watching their grandkids in all of their sporting/school events and most days also included a bag of popcorn and a walk around Rural King. Judy spent countless hours baking her famous cakes and pies for others during the holidays. Her soft spoken demeanor and kind heart will be missed by so many! She was also a devoted member of Asbury Chapel Church, where she served with love and dedication.

There will be visitation on Monday, July 24, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Funeral service will immediately follow visitation at Asbury Chapel in Bicknell, Indiana at 1:00 P.M. with Pastors Darrel Weaver and Harley Archer officiating. Burial will follow at Asbury Chapel Cemetery in Bicknell, Indiana. Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral homes is honored to be entrusted with arrangements of Mrs. Judy Phillippe.
