John Woolard Obituary

John Frank Woolard Sr., a loved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2024, in Vincennes, Indiana at the age of 82. Born on December 14, 1941, in Sullivan County Indiana.  Most knew him as Frank or Pap. 

He graduated from Freelandville High School. He laid down roots in Freelandville, Indiana where he would live most of his life. On January 12, 1963, he married Carolyn Kay (Jones) and together they raised their family. He worked for International Harvester in Freelandville, Jones Chicken Hatchery, as a groundskeeper for Freelandville Memorial Cemetery, and the United Methodist Church, He also was the groundskeeper for Dr. Odell in Freelandville for many years.

Frank enjoyed fishing, gardening and working on cars and the lawnmower. He had the greenest green thumb around and took pride in his yard. He especially loved his red roses. 

He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Kay Woolard; his children, John Frank Woolard Jr. (Tracy), Donald Weible, and Angela McVey; grandchildren Codey Woolard (Madison), Josh Woolard (Kayla), Chloe Woolard, Delta Weible, Mindy McGregor,  Don Weible Jr. (Joanna), Cory Moreland (Crystal), Katilyn Heyse, Mackenzie DeShamp (Ray), Clinton, Justin Haaff (Amy), and Westley McVey.  Great grandchildren Ford, Gatlin, Ada, Sydney, Ethan, Shaun, Elizabeth, Abigail, Cadin, Drake, Braydn, Cooper, Daniel, Devyn, Jackson, Kaizen, Killian, Harper, Emery, Ella, and Hallie;  his brother Charles Woolard, brother- in law Gene Jones, Charlie Wright, sister in-law Becky Woolard, and a large extended family of nieces and nephews including Billy Loving (Cassie) and Robert "Bobby" Woolard.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, John and Viola (Buchanan) Woolard and 12 siblings. He will be deeply missed by those who love him.
