John A Carr

John A. Carr, 68, of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2023. Born on November 17, 1954, in St. Louis, Missouri, John was a beloved father, companion, and friend to many.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Caroline Hartzburge Carr and Ralph Raymond Carr. He is survived by his loving companion, Margaret M. Dilley of Vincennes, Indiana, his daughter, Hailey Marie Bodine of Chicago, Illinois, and his two cherished grandchildren, Chase and Logan Bodine. John's memory will also be treasured by his sister, Patricia Ruhmann of St. Louis, Missouri, nephews Mike and Charlie Ruhmann, stepchildren Jim, Jan, and Spencer Dotson, and Joseph Dilley, and step-grandchildren Sam, Blake, and Emily Goodwin, Kaleb Dilley, Kaitlin Dotson, and Alyssa Witsken, Sasha Davis, Ryan Zuber, and Devan Zuber.

John had a diverse and exciting work history. He was a proud employee of United Airlines and found joy in his unique experiences as a tour bus driver for notable musicians such as Tammy Wynette, Steppenwolf, Kentucky Head Hunters, and Kenny Rogers. Throughout his life, John was passionate about music, particularly playing the guitar.

John A. Carr will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for music. His spirit will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.

There will be a funeral service held on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Vincennes Chapel with visitation from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service.
