Jerry Randall Hoffman, 81 of Oaktown, went to his heavenly home on January 5, 2021.
Jerry was born in Bicknell, IN on July 22, 1939, son to the late James Ellsworth Hoffman and Gwendolyn Amanda (Harrison) Hoffman.
Jerry was a 1957 graduate of Monroe City High School, he served his country by enlisting in the United States Army, was life-long farmer, and retired from the Knox County Highway Department Superintendent; in his younger days he was employed by Vincennes Steel from 1957 until 1968. Jerry was a devoted member of Mariah Creek Christian Church, and loved his family dearly. He was an avid woodworker, commercial strawberry farmer (known as the Strawberry Man in the 1980’s), he enjoyed attending high school basketball games, and fishing.
Jerry is survived by; his loving wife of 54 year, Brenda L. Hoffman; children, Lori Link (Brad) of Washington, Audra Nelson (Tim) of Birdseye, Matt Hoffman (Julie) of Bicknell, Kara Thomas ' (Derek) of Bicknell; 2 sisters, Joyce Harris of Vincennes, and Jana Almy also of Vincennes; he was blessed with 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by; his parents; 1 sister, Shirley Lane; 2 brothers, Roger Hoffman and Larry Hoffman.
Visitation will be held at Mariah Creek Church, 9366 E. Oaktown Rd. Oaktown, IN 47561 on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a service following on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. also at the church. Burial will follow in Mariah Creek Cemetery.
