Jane Hill

Jane Hill, 87, passed away at her Bicknell home, May 4, 2021. She was surrounded by her loving family. Jane was born December 12, 1933, in Washington, Indiana, to the late Elsa Louise (Meyer) Small and Guy Lowell Small. On April 9, 1962, Jane married the love of her life, Bobby Gene Hill, and they made their live together until his passing June 5, 2020.

She retired as a telephone operator for Indiana Bell. Jane was also a cherished babysitter for many of Bicknell's children for twenty-three years. She was an avid reader, especially Danielle Steele novels, and was active in her church.

Jane is survived by her children: Donna (Mattick) Polen, and Bobby (Cheri) Hill, and three grandchildren: Heather Burnette, Nic Powell, and Ashley Willis. There are four great-grandchildren with another on the way. Additionally, she is survived by her beloved dog, Katie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son, Brian (Spanky) Hill, and a brother, Richard Wayne Small.

Visitation for Jane Hill will be held at the Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Bicknell Chapel, 109 East 6th Street, Saturday, May 8, 11:00-2:00. Her funeral will be held immediately following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. at the Bicknell Chapel. John McClure will be the speaker. Interment will be in the Upper Indiana Cemetery.
