Jana Sue “Stephens” Carie, age 72, of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away on April 7, 2026, at her home in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born on January 20, 1954, in Vincennes, Indiana, to the late Earl F. and Beverly J. “Watson” Stephens.

Jana graduated from high school and carried that foundation into her life, marked by hard work and commitment. On July 3, 1982, she married the love of her life, Henry J. Carie, and together they shared many years of marriage and companionship.

For over 30 years, Jana worked in the kitchen of Good Samaritan Hospital, where she was known for her dependable nature and caring spirit. Through her work, she touched the lives of many people, offering not only her time and effort but also the warmth and kindness that came naturally to her. She took pride in doing her job well and in being someone others could depend upon.

Jana will be remembered most for the love she gave to her family and the lasting bonds she shared with them. She is survived by her sisters, Deborah Burch of Vincennes, Indiana, Cathi Gaines of Gulf Shore, Alabama, and Terri Parrott (Jr. Winkles) of St. Francsville, Illinois; her brother, Bruce Stephens and his wife Laura of Lawrenceville, Illinois; a special nephew, Zane Parrott; her nephews, Adam and Justin Stephens; and her nieces, Emily Verone, Danielle Stephens, Ashley Herman, Brielle Stephens, Chloe Fuller, and Amy Stephens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Carie; her parents; and her brothers, David and Timothy Stephens. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life, and she carried their love with her always.

Jana’s life was one of devotion and love. She will be remembered for her gentle presence, her strong work ethic, and the care she showed to those around her. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
