Obituary
James A. Smith 77, of Vincennes went to his heavenly home on Monday, September 26, 2022.
James was born June 28, 1945 in Vincennes, IN to the late Edger Smith and Lela McConnahey Smith.
James was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a housekeeping supervisor for GSH, and worked on the line at FIA until his retirement. He enjoyed traveling, building things, Eucharist Ministries, and was an avid reader.
Those left to mourn the loss of James are; a daughter, Lorie Allen (Rossey) of Vincennes; siblings, Jane McCarter of Vincennes; four grandchildren, Scott Flick, C,J. Flick, Rossey Allen (Janna), and Ryan Allen; and one great-grandchild, Emily Flick.
He was preceded in death by; parents, wife, Gennell Smith, two daughters, Trudy Kitchell Curry, and Cynthia Niehaus, and one sister, Amanda Madison.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery with visitation being held an hour prior also at the cemetery. Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes, Vincennes Chapel is honored to be entrusted with arrangements. The family welcomes online condolences to be left at www.fredrickandson.com.
