Jackson “Jack” Louis Lowe, 99, of Vincennes, Indiana went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Colonial Assisted Living. Jack was born on January 29, 1924, in Vincennes, Indiana. He was the son of Esther Douglas. Jack was a graduate of Lincoln High School. He married Fleta Fay Fox in 1948 and they made their life together for nearly 75 years. Jack served in the Army from March 1943 to March 1946, during World War II. During this time, he earned multiple awards for his service. He was a very active member of the Church of God. He worked at the Packaging Corporation of America for 35 years. He loved working in his garage and garden.
Jack is survived by his and Fleta’s children: Michael Lewis Lowe and wife Rose, Deborah Ann Catt, Kathleen Jo Rasico and husband Pastor Scott Rasico, Barbara Jean Cary and husband Michael “Mitch”, and Lora May Roman and husband Joseph. His surviving grandchildren are: Lisa M. Hughes, Stephanie E. Grimes, Justin M. Lowe, Thomas Catt, Jeremy Rasico, Ginger Weisbrod, Drew Cary, Dustin Cary, Jennifer Roman, Jacob Roman, and Kaitlyn Roman. He has many great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Fleta Fay Lowe; mother, Esther Douglas; half-brother, Don Lovellette; grandchildren Rachel Renee (Rasico) Crow and Joshua Caleb Roman; and great-granddaughter, Candice Cary.
Funeral services will be celebrated Monday, September 25, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the First Church of God (1408 E. St. Clair St.) with Pastor Scott Rasico officiating. Jack will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. at the First Church of God on Monday. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the First Church of God.
