Jack Warren Stilwell II, age 74, of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away on January 18, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family and the warmth of memories in the town where he was born and raised. Born on September 23, 1949, to the late Mary Helen Brand Stilwell and Jack Warren Stilwell I, Jack's life was a testament to the strength of heartfelt community bonds and the enduring spirit of family.
He was a devoted father to his 4 beautiful and smart daughters, the best big brother a girl could ask for, and a mentor to many. Throughout his years, Jack dedicated himself to his career as an independent insurance agent, and this dedication was mirrored in his involvement with various local associations. He found camaraderie and purpose as a member of the Lawrenceville Elks, Harmony Society, Vincennes Moose Lodge, the American Legion, and the Vincennes 40 et 8. His commitment to these organizations demonstrated his belief in service and his joy in fellowship.
Outside the realm of work and community service, Jack was known for his love of golf, movies, music, books, and an enduring passion for playing poker. These interests brought joy not only to him but also to the many who shared in these pastimes alongside him and cherished his company.
Jack leaves behind a legacy through his beloved children: Keri Dey Marsh (Jeff) of Florida, Brandi Davis (Chris) of Vincennes, Laura Abel (Tom) of Vincennes, and Leslie Stilwell of Vincennes. His nine grandchildren: Olivia Marsh, Jeffrey Marsh, Landon Davis, Bennett Davis, Bella Abel, Brooklynn Abel, Logan Harrison, Luke Harrison, and Viola Harrison will always remember their grandfather's loving presence. He is also survived by his sister, Jayne Stilwell, and niece, Christen Yochum, both of Vincennes, who will hold dear the memory of his steadfast love and guidance.
As we say farewell to Jack, we celebrate a life rich with connection, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to family and community. His was a life well-lived, and his impact will be felt for generations to come.
