Everett "Joe" Brackin, a husband, brother, and member of the Decker community, passed away on June 4, 2025 at the age of 71. He was born on February 17, 1954 in Vincennes, Indiana to Everett and Elizabeth "Betty" (Speth) Brackin.
On December 4, 1999, Joe united in marriage with his wife, Debbie (McCord) Brackin, in Vincennes, Indiana.
Joe dedicated his life to the land, working diligently as a farmer. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ where he enjoyed fellowship with the other members. He always looked forward to a cool glass of Nancy Ford's lemonade at church dinners and continued to listen to broadcasts of the services after he was no longer able to attend in person.
A man of simple pleasures, Joe found joy in the quiet suspense of watching Westerns, with "Gunsmoke" being a particular favorite.
Joe will be missed by his wife, Debbie, of Decker, as well as by his sister, Sandra Brackin-Magana, of Vincennes. He also leaves behind one nephew, Chad Brackin, of Vincennes as well as five great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
As we grieve the loss of Everett "Joe" Brackin, we also sincerely thank our neighbors Terry and Pam, the members of the Johnson Township Fire Department, and Phil Nuernberger, Larry Howerton, and the Elders of Central Church of Christ for all of their help and support.
