Ethel Lena Cooper, 91, of Vincennes, Indiana went to her heavenly home on May 23, 2023.
Ethel was born on February 8,1932 to the late Samuel Foote and Mabel “Melvin” Taylor in Bruceville, Indiana.
She married the love of her life Robert G.Cooper in Nashville, Tennessee.
Ethel was a bookkeeper for Hedde Pharmacy, then went to regional director of Jafra Cosmetics, was owner of the Candle Cottage in Vincennes and then retired at the age of 81. Even after retirement she was the top salesperson in JC Penny's jewelry department. She loved to garden and plant flowers in her spare time. Ethel was a loving mother and grandmother. Her smile and the happiness she brought to our lives will be in our memories forever. We have cherished the time we had with her.
She was a member of Vincennes First Baptist Church , Beta Sigma Phi, and the Harmony Society.
Those left to mourn the loss of Ethel are; children, Connie Dale of Lawrenceville, IL, Jacqueline Church of Vincennes,In, and Charles and Marge Horton of Newton, IL;grandchildren,Jennifer Dale, Belinda (Travis) Davis, Alexander Church, Ashley (Tanner) Dike, Emily Dunbar, Carrie Scniepp, Douglas Horton;sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and siblings, Betty Allen of Bicknell, In, Marge Ellis of Vincennes, In, Gary Foote of Kansas City, Kansas, Fleta Jacqueline Donham of Kansas City, Kansas and David Foote of Vincennes, In and Roy Foote.
Ethel is preceded in death by her parents, spouse; Robert Cooper; one infant grandchild; four brothers, Samuel Foote, Fred Foote, John Foote, and Eddie Foote; and a sister, Mary Roach.
There will be a graveside service held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Bruceville Cemetery.
