Edward Duane Lanning, aged 89, of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away on October 23, 2024. Born on December 22, 1934, in Wagner, South Dakota, he was a son to George and Esther "Woods" Lanning.

Edward was a man of warmth and spirit, characteristics that define the legacy he leaves behind. A graduate of high school, he went on to bravely serve his country in the Army, before enjoying a well-deserved retirement. He carried with him through life a deep love for nature, relishing moments spent watching hummingbirds and cherishing the time he shared with his family.

A devout member of Jehovah's Witnesses of Bridgeport, Illinois, Edward practiced his faith with the same kindness and friendliness that made him a cherished friend and neighbor. He was widely known for his loving nature, a beacon of light and joy to all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving children, Dianna Wilson (Dale), Sandra Flowers (Derrick), Melinda Ball (Eric), Karen Armstrong (Robert), Rachael Andreasen (Randy), and Naomi Evans (Patrick), as well as a legacy of 27 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Edward was preceded in death by his beloved wife Maria Urban, his sons Robert and David Lanning, his parents, his four brothers, and one sister.
