Earl Frederick Linneweber, a man of remarkable character and unwavering faith, departed this life on December 14, 2023, at the age of 95 in Freelandville, Indiana, leaving behind a legacy of wisdom and kindness that touched many. Born on May 3, 1928, in Edwardsport, Indiana, Earl was a lifelong learner, proud graduate of Edwardsport High School, and attended Purdue University Ag Short Courses.
Earl faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force for four years during the Korean Conflict. Following his military service, he returned to his roots in agriculture, beginning as a Purdue Forage Farm manager then buying his own grain farm. His commitment to excellence and strong work ethic propelled him to a remarkable 31-year career at Johnson Controls in Vincennes, Indiana, where he made significant contributions until his retirement.
A pillar of the community, Earl was an active member of the Bethel Church, where he served as a Church Council Deacon, dedicating his time to the Men's Brotherhood Organization, St. Mary’s Euchre Group, and Rural Youth Organization. He also proudly participated in the JCI Retirees Organization and supported the American Legion, living out the values of service and camaraderie.
Earl's life was enriched by the love and joy of his family. He was a devoted father to Suzan Morgan (Robert), Mike Linneweber, Patty Fry (Randy), and Dan Linneweber (Liz). His legacy continues through his nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who will continue to walk in the light of his wisdom. He is also survived by his siblings, David Linneweber and Joyce Myers. Earl was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marjorie “Behle” Linneweber, his parents, Fred C. Linneweber and Lydia “Sanders” Linneweber, as well as his siblings, Chuck Linneweber and Dorothy Sams.
Throughout his life, Earl embodied the virtues of being faith-filled, wise, and friendly. These words perfectly capture the essence of a man who lived his life with purpose and grace, leaving behind a legacy that will be treasured by all who had the honor of knowing him.
There will be a visitation on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Bethel Church, 13673 E State Road 58 Edwardsport, IN 47528 with service following on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at the Bethel Church Cemetery. Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes are honored to be entrusted with the arrangements for Earl Linneweber.
