Donald “Donnie” Lewis Hardig

Donald “Donnie” Lewis Hardig, Jr. 62 of Wheatland passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020.
Donnie was born on March 19, 1958 in Olney, IL to the late Donald Hardig, Sr. and Mary Lou Rasico Hardig.
Donnie was a master leather artist for Grundman’s Shoe Store and also specialized in custom shoe making. He was part of the Metis tribe and enjoyed anything outdoors. He served our country in the United States Navy and loved his family.
Donnie leaves behind; his loving wife of 30 years, Cathy “Cat”  (Like) Hardig; children, Jeremy and Jennifer Hardig of Vincennes, Dani Hardig Hoalt and companion Jeremy Trent of Vincennes, Stanley Berry and fiancé Rebekah Hennessy of Norfolk, VA; He was the proud grandfather of: Donnie, Jeremiah, Coral, Dylan, Wyatt, Charli, Logan, Ethan, Zeke, Taryn, Mason, Nate and Bradley, His siblings, William “Mike” Hardig of Vincennes, IN, Greg Hardig of Vincennes, Terre Hardig of WI, Betty Pirone of Vincennes, Bob, Ronnie and Amber Hardig all of Vincennes, daughter-in- law Rosa Berry of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; and one son, Donnie Hardig III.
There will be a memorial visitation held on Saturday, November 28, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M.at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes, Vincennes Chapel. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at noon.
