Donald E Cardinal

Donald E. Cardinal departed from this earth on December 5, 2025 after a very long battle with cancer.He went openly into the arms of his soulmate, his late wife Betty.

He was born April 18, 1947 in Vincennes to Morris and Margaret Cardinal. He was a USAF Veteran. Don was always working; he worked in Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, Arkansas, and Illinois following Johnson Controls and other car part companies. Don ended his working career just this year as a delivery driver for Williams Brothers in Vincennes.

Don married Betty Mundy on March 8, 1973 and immediately became the proud parent of DeLana Hatfield (Doug Crowley) Bill Brower (Susi), and Tammy Ellerman (the late Brad). He will also be missed by his grandchildren; Brittanie DeBord (Chris Davis), Audra Kerzan, Ricky Hatfield (Rogina), Alexia Cabellero (Dylan), Madisson Dworek (Wes),Easton Brower (Taylor), Kylie Jackson (Josh), and Tyler Ellerman (Haley); seventeen great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild due in April.

He loved spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren whether it was dancing, playing games, or getting his nails painted.He loved animals and will also be missed by his dog, Mr. T and cats Booger, Lucky, and Twirl.

He is also survived by his nieces Sherri Cabellero (Robin), Tammy Wessel (Tim), and Tracy Haase; cousins, Jan Poppe (Greg), Dan Binzer; the late, Caroline and their daughters, Miranda and Molly.

Don was preceded in death by; his parents, Morris and Margaret Cardinal; wife, Betty who passed in September of 2025; his brother, Con Cardinal; son-in-law, Brad Ellerman; niece, Sandy Ellingsworth; cousin, Caroline Binzer.
