Dalton Grant Kirby

Dalton Grant Kirby, a kind and loving young man, passed away on May 12, 2023, in Monroe City, Indiana, due to a tragic accident. Born on October 4, 2002, in Vincennes, Indiana, Dalton was the cherished son of Kaci Jones and Kevin Kirby.

Dalton was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Class of 2021. During his time at Lincoln, he was an active member of the ROTC program, where he demonstrated his dedication to service and leadership. Following his graduation, Dalton began working at Dallas Foster Landscaping and part-time at Walmart, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly demeanor.

In addition to his parents, Dalton is survived by his brother, Dillon Blaize Kirby of Vincennes; maternal grandparents, Kay Bastin of Vincennes and Mike Jones (Pam) of Bicknell; paternal grandparents, Walter Kirby (Becky) of Vincennes; and a large and loving extended family. He was preceded in death by his son, Mateo Kirby.

Dalton's kind-hearted nature and willingness to help others made him a beloved member of his community. He was known for his infectious smile and ability to brighten any room he entered. His love for his family was evident in the close relationships he maintained with his parents, brother, and grandparents.

Dalton's passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched during his short time on this earth. His kindness, compassion, and unwavering love for his family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Vincennes Chapel.
